Q: What does Women’s Day mean to you?

Women’s Day is a celebration of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women. It’s a moment to honour the many roles we play, as career women, wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends and to recognise that we can thrive in all of them without losing ourselves along the way. It’s also a powerful reminder of the responsibility we carry to lift as we rise. Over the years, I have met women from all walks of life, at various stages of their careers and life, and I am always struck by how often even the most outwardly confident women quietly wrestle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and low confidence. Having navigated (still navigating) similar challenges, I am passionate about supporting women to recognise their worth, embrace their strengths, and step fully into their power.

Q: What message would you share with young women considering a career in tech or payments?

The tech and payments space is fast-paced, innovative, and full of opportunities to create meaningful change. Build your network, seek out mentors, and don’t shy away from stepping out of your comfort zone. You belong here, and the industry needs you. Stay grounded in your values, be authentic, and never dim your light to fit in.

Q: What does it mean to be a woman in the payments and fintech industry?

It means being a change maker. In payments, we have the power to transform lives by enabling access to digital financial services. I saw this firsthand during the Covid pandemic, when the adoption of digital payments accelerated almost overnight. Giving people the tools and access they need to participate fully in the economy is purposeful work, and it matters deeply. For me, being a woman in this space is about showing up authentically while creating space for others to do the same. It’s about leading with both strength and empathy and proving that results and relationships go hand in hand.

Q: How do you see the role of women in fintech evolving over the next few years?

I believe we will see more women stepping into influential leadership roles, shaping product innovation, guiding policy, and driving growth in more ways. As the industry continues to recognise the value of diversity, women will have an even greater role in shaping how fintech serves communities, addresses historic barriers, and builds solutions that are truly inclusive. Women bring unique strengths, empathy, a collaborative mindset, and a natural instinct to create solutions that work for people, not just for profit. These traits are powerful in a sector that is ultimately about trust, relationships, and access. As we continue to close the gap in opportunity, position, and remuneration, I believe women will lead fintech into a future that is more balanced, more innovative, and more human.

Q: What do you love most about your role at Ozow?

I love that what we do matters. Every day, we bring value to the clients we serve and through them we are making a real difference in the lives of ordinary people, whether that’s a person paying for a car or someone paying their store account from the comfort of their living room. I am inspired by the opportunity to work with a passionate team, to innovate in a space that changes lives, and to mentor and support other women in building their own impactful careers.
